Recognition of foreign driver privileges.

Driver licences from EEA countries are in general valid in Norway. If you hold a driver licence issued in Switzerland, Japan or Greenland, you should exchange it to a norwegian licence within a year from taking residence in Norway. In order to exchange a licence from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel, ­ Monaco, New Zealand, San Marino, South Korea, USA to a norwegian licence you will have to pass a practical driving exam. If you hold a driver licence from any other country not listed above you have no driver privileges in Norway.

Drivers licence category B (car)

In order to achieve a Norwegian driving licence you have to participate in a full driving education program, determined by Norwegian traffic authorities. The education program contains four steps with partially compulsory lessons and individual lessons. You are obligated to reach the necessary levels of skills and knowledge as well as compulsory lessons. A - Heavy motorcycle

A drivers licence for motorscycle in category A heavy motorcycle may be acchieved at age 24. If you have held a drivers licence in subcategory A2 medium weight motorcycle for at least 2 years you may still acchieve a drivers license on category A even before reached 24.
